RC1824 - 18" Capacity Brush Chipper

When a chipper feeds better, it makes life easier for the operator. This was the objective held by the RAYCO engineers when they created the RC1824. The RC1824 was given a powerful feed system to pull in brush, limbs, and logs easier, with less trimming. Dual, horizontal feed wheels are off-set to minimize material kick-up. A 24” diameter top feed wheel is powered by a planetary drive motor and easily climbs over large logs without operator assistance. This 18” capacity drum chipper is compact and powerful, featuring a standard 130hp Cummins engine or an optional 160hp Cummins turbo diesel. The engine is rubber isolated for smooth operation. The RC1824 chipper with a biggest-in-class 38” diameter by 24” wide drum powers through challenging material. All this performance comes in a package that’s only 192” long with the feed table folded.

Features and Benefits

  • Power options allow choice of powerful Cummins 4-cylinder turbo diesel engines in 130hp or 160hp, both meeting Tier 3 emissions
  • Rubber Isolated engine for smooth operation
  • Largest in-class chipper drum measures 38-inches in diameter x 24-inches wide for smooth chipping action
  • Infeed opening is 18-inches high x 24-inches wide straight through to the drum for easy feeding with no neck-down
  • Planetary feed wheel motor is maintenance free and eliminates chain and sprockets, keyways, and shaft-to-shaft couplers used by competitors, while providing exceptional feeding torque
  • 24-inch diameter feed wheel is large enough to climb over most logs, eliminating the need for an operator to manually raise the feed wheel
  • Hydraulic feed wheel lift and crush with crush automatically applied for 20-seconds in 1-touch of the lever. Competitors require operator to continuously hold down-pressure lever
  • VersaFeed automatic feed control to maximize productivity and prevent overfeeding
  • X-Charge high-velocity discharge throws further and prevents plugging
  • Rear-mounted control panel positions ignition, gauges, and warning lights near the operator
  • Spring-loaded clutch requires fewer adjustments than over-center style used by competitors
  • 10,000lbs leaf-spring axle is reliable and provides suspension for smooth towing
  • Optional lower feed wheel is offset to allow easy feeding with minimal material kick-up
